AT HOME
We produce our chocolate in an environmental- ly-friendly plant, that allows us to increase our efficien- cy in terms of energy and water consumption, and to constantly reduce waste.
A trigeneration plant that simultaneously and auton- omously produces electricity, steam and cold water from one single energy source, allowing us to satisfy all of our energy needs for the entire production line. The remaining energy needs are sourced exclusively from renewable providers.
Ever aware of the essential importance of water as a resource, we have transformed all the water cool- ing and heating systems for the production line into closed circuits.
We have replaced the system of air conditioning with machines cooled by air or by closed circuit water. We collect rain water in a decanting reservoir, where it is cleaned and introduced into the production cycle for any processes not involved in the alimentary line.
Finally, following a circular saving model, we have formed many partnerships over the years to give a second life to our waste. Since 2011 we have reduced the difference by more than 40 percentage points of organic material, arriving in 2021 to produce it only 9.7%. The leftover residues of cocoa beans aredes- tined for feed and biomass energy generation facili- ties, and the cocoa husks are used as organic fertiliser by producers in the plantations.
